WHAT WE DO

Our partnership with the Dallas Independent School District was formed to give underserved youth in Dallas the opportunity to participate in competitive policy debate that would  enable them to succeed academically and to contribute to the vibrancy of their communities. During our inaugural year in 2008, 25 high school students participated in the program. Today, we offer Community Action Debate,  Policy Debate, and World Schools Debate and serve over 1600 students in over 110 schools.

 

Dallas Urban Debate Alliance continues to operate a full debate program for Dallas ISD. This includes planning and administering free-of-cost tournaments during the academic year; professional development for debate coaches; workshops and a summer debate institute for students; and providing the materials and supplies necessary for debate preparation. Students also have the opportunity to qualify for state and national competitions and public debates.
