WAYS TO VOLUNTEER
Become a Tournament Judge
Dallas Urban Debate tournaments are rigorous academic competitions. For our students, tournaments are a rare opportunity to have their ideas about important issues considered seriously by adults. Judging is a great way to interact with and help our students by observing them during competition and providing feedback. Judges are vital to the success of tournaments! No prior experience is required and training is provided.
There are three QUICK steps required to serve as a judge.
Step 1 - Go to https://dallasisd.voly.org/
Follow the steps to complete a background check as required per DISD.
Step 2 - Create a Tabroom Account (If you already have an account, you can proceed to sign up as a judge)
Visit: www.tabroom.com
Select "Sign-up" in the upper right-hand corner and follow the registration instructions.
*Remember your password, you will need it when you arrive at the tournament.
Once your account is created, you can sign-up to Judge.
Log in to your account and type "DUDA" in the search box in the upper right-hand corner.
Scroll down to select your desired tournament.
Select the "Judge Sign-Up" Tab
Under Judge Categories on the right, select the "Policy" tab
Add your desired "shift" in the special requests/notes box, i.e., all-day, morning or afternoon.
