Since its early years, DUDA has reached new heights in bringing debate to students across Dallas ISD. Between 2012 and 2016, participation doubled to include 50 campuses and more than 900 students annually. By fall 2022, we expanded to over 70 schools, and in 2023 we became the second-largest urban debate league in the nation. By early 2024, DUDA served more than 1,700 students from 113 schools across the district. This past year we reached almost 1800 young people and are on track to reach over 2000 this year. This steady growth has only been possible through the generosity of supporters like you!
Your support ensures that we can continue strengthening our programs and enhancing the experience for both students and coaches. We have introduced new professional development sessions led by nationally recognized debate coaches, redesigned our onboarding and training process to make it easier for new campuses to join, and created new formats that make debate even more relevant and engaging. These innovations help students and teachers not only succeed in competition but also develop the skills to lead in their schools and communities.
